Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is a cinematic masterpiece, an orgy of exquisite full motion video sequences, beautiful music and quality vocal performances. As such, it's not a movie. It's a video game, and as a game, Crisis Core is good, not great. The one button gameplay grows monotonous quickly, and having to use the L and R triggers to "slide" over to one's spells and items leaves you open to attack. Combine that with the annoying "Combat Resolved" narrator, and the result is is a game that appeals to Final Fantasy VII supporters itching to uncover new info about their favorite game. If that's you, then indulge your fantasies. Otherwise, this is a decent hack-and-slash game encased within a glossy exterior.User Reviews

Crisis Core,has too be one of the most brilliant games made of all time,the fact that the graphics and gameplay are pretty solid,the most addictive part is the gameplay,you can fuse that's right fuse materia too make stronger materia,however the digital mind wave or DMW system as you call it,allows you too use limit breaks and sometimes summons,the voice acting fits each character perfectly,the soundtrack is one of the best Final Fantasy soundtracks there is,also this prequel storyline is very interesting,It also can be a good way too get rid of boredom,I'd say this is highly reccomended for Final Fantasy Fans Verdict: 10/10

This is one of the best games I have ever played. With it being so, I would like to "correct" Gamedaily's incorrect statements. First off, Crisis Core is NOT a complete "hack-and-slash" game. There are several enemies in the game that are immune to attack. So just mashing x for attack would be pretty pointless. Next I would like to point out that all the other buttons besides x do have functions in battle. Triangle lets you guard/dash, Square lets you dodge enemy attacks, and Circle lets you scroll back to attack automatically. Meaning easily avoiding using up all of your elixers. Also this game has a whole lot of optional missions to do. 300 to be exsact. That gives you something to do when your bored and also offers many GOOD treasures. All and all this is an awesome game. It has an excellent storyline and exceptional voice-acting.
