On May 12, fans of the Narnia book and movie series can expect merchandising madness as the second movie, Prince Caspian, releases to theaters. Of course, games -- like most movie games -- won't be A-list games, they still look decent enough to keep the magic of the film (and the C.S. Lewis book it's based on) alive a little bit longer.

From a brief demo of the game, the action revolved around choosing three of 20 characters -- each with special abilities -- to take on waves of bad guys on screen. In the chapter Fall of Cair Paravel, the trio of warriors must battle through herds of enemy soldiers, hopping atop giants and guiding them to, Hulk-like, smash through catapults and other wooden contraptions that the enemies have set up near the castle.

In another level, players must use stealth to infiltrate the enemies' fortress -- flying on the backs of winged creatures and taking out one of the castle's turret at a time without getting shot down. Once inside, players battle their way through more enemies to open a drawbridge and let their Narnia allies in to overpower enemy forces.

Aside from hacking and slashing using a combination of weak and strong attacks, players will be picking up chunks of armor, which will make them less vulnerable to attack. The game will also include solving puzzles to open up new areas of the game. Those who don't want to save Narnia alone can play the game cooperatively while sitting in the same room together, but not online.

Comedian Eddie Izzard and actor Liam Neeson will both voice the game (along with the rest of the talent in the film). As far as movie-based games go, this game won't be the worst offender, but we'd say it's safe not to expect too much, either.
