They won't be dancing together, but various celebrities like Keith Urban, Fergie, Reggie Bush and Kristi Yamaguchi will be appearing in Celebrity Sports Showdown. No word on cameos by Kim Kardashian or Peter Moore.

Electronic Arts today announced that Celebrity Sports Showdown is in development at EA Canada. This title will feature 12 outdoor sports games and will be the first Wii title branded with the EA Sports Freestyle label. As the title implies, various celebrities like Keith Urban, Fergie, Reggie Bush and Kristi Yamaguchi will compete in games like volleyball, badminton, and archery in order "to determine who will be the ultimate celebrity athlete."
"We feel that this game is the EA Sports Freestyle answer to a great Wii party game. It explores the lighter side of sports and pulls inspiration from the entertainment spectacles that are so prevalent in pop culture today," said Dave McCarthy, Executive Producer. "Celebrity Sports Showdown will bring people to the party with a collection of games and celebrities that appeal to everyone."
Celebrity Sports Showdown will release on Wii during late 2008.

It actually sounds like it could be a good deal of fun. I found a hands-on preview of the game: " Unfortunately, he was hesitant in allowing us to play too many of the mi***ames, as several of them are still rough around the edges and still too buggy to show off. But when it ships, expect to see Inner-Tubing, Hurdle Derby (horse race), Racing Aces (jets), Slalom Showdown, Ultimate Dodgeball, Smash Badminton, Curling, River Racers (canoe), Rapid Fire Archery, Cliff Hangers (climbing) and Beach Volleyball. There was also Joust Dueling, the giant Q-Tip fight made famous by American Gladiators, that we really wanted to play but we didn’t get a chance to.
