Konami and developer Koji Igarashi have struck that perfect balance between old and new Castlevania gameplay with Portrait of Ruin, allowing players to explore new realms while throwing in some classic features that many fans have grown up with. The two-character system is magnificent and very easy to get into, and the presentation makes proper use of the DS. Players will also enjoy tinkering around with the online options, although they're somewhat limited. No matter, this Portrait of Ruin is a work of art.
