Online Twitter reports from Newsweek correspondent (and GameDaily HUD contributor) N'Gai Croai indicate that several big-name sequels are on the way from the company.

During a presentation in New York yesterday to talk about Activision's recent deal with in-game ad agency Massive Inc. revealed several previously unannounced games. First off, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is set for arrival in fall 2009. Although no official details were revealed about the game, we're guessing that Infinity Ward, the team behind the original, is handling development.

Also mentioned was a new Tony Hawk game, which is set for release in late 2009 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Unlike previous games in the series, this one will use an all-new peripheral shaped like a skateboard. Again, Activision didn't give any major details regarding this upcoming release.

An Activision executive also mentioned that Bizarre Creations was hard at work on two different projects. The first is the next James Bond game, dealing primarily with racing. The second is a racing game that's best described as "Mario Kart meets Forza," according to the executive. Unfortunately, no official titles or specs were given during the conference. Finally, a (very) brief image indicated that Guitar Hero 5 was also in the works, although Activision will surely wrap up Guitar Hero: Metallica first, since it's due in spring 2009.

Surprisingly, no Blizzard-related projects were shown at the conference. Perhaps we'll learn more as 2009 slowly works its way here...
