Real bowling is cool, but sometimes everyone needs a vacation from the permeating funk of old shoes and bad nachos.
Every league game you play earns your bowler respect. (Which is good, because the initial clothes wear certainly won't.) This brings us to career mode character customization. You got your normal choices, gender, ethnicity, glasses ... what? Yep, in addition to choosing your pants, shirt and shoes, you also get to pick a pair of glasses. After our bowling queen was decked out in black pants with flames, a horrific, yet 'best-there-was' top and some glasses out of principle, we were ready to roll.
Career mode offers a quick rise to the top. Every league game played not only gets you closer to the title of Brunswick Pro Bowling Champion, but it also earns you respect points, cash prizes and unlockable goodies. Earn really good money and buy a sweet ball that will help improve your hook. Dish out the dough for a slammin' pair of neon pink and black bowling shoes that increase your stamina and psych out your competitors; nothing says fierce like pink. Looking through the unlocked and buyable items, however, one earns a new respect for real-life bowlers. As expensive as their balls may be, they get you past those difficult runs.
