The Sun is reporting that a Renault truck in Northampton carrying a load of video games was recently stolen. In Leeds, the police identified its fake number plates and recovered the vehicle. Before fingerprint or DNA checks could be made on the truck, it was stolen again from a police compound.
When the truck was finally found later, the £600,000 ($1 million) shipment of PS3 games was gone. "We are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry, including eBay transactions where a number of the games have been potentially identified as being advertised for sale," said a police spokesman. "Arrests have already been made in respect of this."
16,000 copies of war game Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway were taken from the truck. Ubisoft issued a statement in response to this, saying, "Fans needn't worry as more stock is being parachuted in."
