Electronic Arts, the world's leading interactive entertainment software company, today announced plans to publish Breakdown from Namco Limited for the Xbox.
Breakdown is the hotly anticipated first-person action adventure title that combines Namco's legendary fighting game experience with the best elements of traditional shooters. A thrilling science fiction storyline is revealed through its high-end, real-time rendered graphics, bringing an unprecedented level of realism to the gameplay experience. The game features intense hand-to-hand and weapons-based combat, challenging puzzles, surreal dream sequences, advanced A.I and massive, detailed environments for exploration.
Playing the role of Derrick Cole, a US soldier badly wounded in combat and brought back from the brink of death as a result of 'cyborg' experiments, you wake up in the Carter Research Centre-a US research facility located in Yokohama, Japan-unable to remember your past. Here you come under attack from US soldiers and are saved unexpectedly by Alex Henderson, a female soldier.
You have no choice but to escape from the research centre and unravel the sinister plot, battling hoards of seemingly invincible super-human warriors, learning new combos and acquiring new vehicles and weapons for the ultimate first-person experience.
Breakdown is scheduled for release in June 2004.
