Game revenues from Europe were less than a million below that of the U.S. in 2007, and with twice the population, the European market has a lot of space to grow moving forward.

Forbes is reporting that Europe is the "least mature" video game market, and also the one with the largest potential. Citing IDG, the report says that the European market generated $17.9 billion in revenue for 2007, compared with revenues of nearly $18.8 billion in the U.S., which has less than half of Europe's population.
IDG provided a list of the top selling games of 2007 in the U.K., Germany and France:
