Blue Dragon Plus for DS picks up right where 2007's Xbox 360 role-playing game ended, but don't expect many surprises. Much like that adventure, this portable follow-up has a charming anime appeal and an epic story, but forgettable characters and uninteresting combat almost ruins the game. Using the same system we've seen in Heroes of Mana and Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings, Blue Dragon plods along with slow character movement, imprecise stylus controls and waves of the same enemies we fought in the original; about an hour of impressive cut scenes round out the package. Unless you're a fan, this average RPG has little to offer.
