Nominees for Game Developers Choice Awards (XBOX)

The nominations have been announced for one of the video game industry's most prestigious award ceremonies.

Today the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) announced the nominations for the 4th annual Game Developers Choice Awards. As the name suggests, these awards are for developers by developers, which makes it one of the most prestigious awards a company can receive.

Awards will be recognized within eight categories including Game of the Year, Rookie Studio of the Year and Excellence in Visual Arts at the Game Developers Conference. The conference is set to take place in the Civic Auditorium on March 24, 2004.

The nominations were open to all professional game designers regardless of membership or association. In addition, awards will also be received for the Lifetime Achievement, First Penguin, Community Contribution and Innovation Spotlight categories.

"The industry has seen an exceptional year from developers. We are proud to honor those who have dedicated their careers to making innovative games," said Jason Della Rocca, Program Director, IGDA. "This award is a tremendous honor as nominees have been selected by their peers."
