Looks like Sony is letting the apes escape yet again in Ape Escape: Pumped and Primed. This actionadventure game hybrid features some mentally enhanced primates and their human pals who embark on a grand adventure.

The gameplay features 44 levels and 8 bosses in the game's story mode, where up to two players can cooperatively advance through the games tournament based action. Ape Escape: Pumped and Primed will also feature head-to-head competitive action with up to four players across 28 different tournament events.

Ape Escape: Pumped and Primed will feature some familiar faces, at least familiar to those who have followed the series, such as Natalie, Spike and the Professor. Since this is an Ape Escape game, there will be the usual posse of weird and wonderful mad monkeys and their gadgets.

Players can expect the usual arsenal of weapons, gadgets and various means of transport. Players can also look forward to some interesting rewards, over 400 of them, for their various achievements in the game. These rewards will include new weapons, gadgets, costumes and perhaps some Easter Eggs for the inquisitive gamer.

Ape Escape: Pumped and Primed is set to be released on U.S. shores for the PlayStation 2 this October.
