The Ant Bully, developed by Warner Bros. and Midway, is a cute and easy family title that I think will be a good choice for young gamers. You play as Lucas, a little boy who has been shrunk to ant size, and you must complete a series of missions for the ants in order to return to your regular kid size, and back home. The games simple features make it a nice fit for the youngsters, but it's also not simple enough to bore us either.

One thing about the controls, you are only able to move forward really. There is no jumping button and you just kind of run into walls to climb, and off of things to jump. That was a bit annoying, but easy to get used to. In the first mission, your job is to collect ant pupas scattered around and throw them into a chute. There are also piles of crystals that emit rays of light lying around in certain places, and by running through it, you 'pick it up'. After one thousand, something cool is unlocked. I did not get that far yet!

While wandering there are a whole lot of harmless ants hanging around, doing their own ant-thing. They don't bother you, but will get in your way sometimes. Also, on the lower left hand corner of the screen is a map showing where you are and the location of whatever it is you need to find, be it pupa or evil predator bugs. That makes the games move nicely and allows you to not get lost for too long, perfect for a kids game in my opinion.

After each game, you are placed back in the colony and must find your way to the meeting room where there are a few bugs waiting for you with a very long list of tasks that you must complete to get back home. That's a great thing about this game, there seem to be a lot of mini games in here.

Among the games, you must fight these grotesque looking Pill Bugs, killing a certain amount let's you move on. You kill by pressing the square button, holding it down lets you do a lunge move. There are also certain bugs that really stick on you, by running forward and pressing X, you do a tumble that gets them off of you. After completing each mission, you receive a gold medal and when you return to the meeting room, there is another game unlock among one of the ants.

Ant Bully is a very cute game, with nice graphics and easy controls, not to mention a slew of mini games available to unlock. I think this would be a great game for the younger kids, and I also think you'll have funning playing it too!
