Infogrames Sales/Losses Down for First Half 07/08 (PC)

The French game publisher and developer is still in the red, not helped at all by Atari's fiscal results. Infogrames has a plan going forward, however, which will see them leverage next-gen and classic titles.

Infogrames announced the results for the first half of the fiscal year. Sales were down year on year, to €91.2 million from €105.5 million ($134.9 million) last year. Losses narrowed by roughly a third year on year, down to to €27.6 million ($40.8 million).

The decreased losses were thanks in part to the sale of the company's Hasbro licenses equal to €13.3 million. The company's American unit was still a large loss leader, with sales down nearly two-thirds in the region compared to last year. Still, Infogrames hopes to turn the Atari unit around with next-gen games like Alone in the Dark and Test Drive Unlimited and by leveraging various classic Atari titles online.
