In Sega's Alien Syndrome for PSP, aliens invade a space colony and the government sends a solo warrior and robot assistants to clean up the mess. Never mind the inexplicable fact that...

a. The space colony's security sucks big time and...

b. A clean-up team would work a lot better than a hotshot going alone with a slow-moving droid.

Totally Games did acceptable work turning the 1987 arcade hit into an advanced adventure game, but a few flaws keep it from success.

With the Wii version, convoluted design gets in the way. Fortunately, the PSP version avoids this issue with a better control set-up. Players can operate the manual camera much easier here, instead of uncontrollably spinning around. Furthermore, the combat performs much better, as Ripley wanna-be Aileen carries out her alien-purging mission. Regrettably, the item selection system is still a problem, as players wade through multiple screens just to equip a new weapon or armor.
