I had a chance to check out Acclaim's 100 Bullets, and while the game's very glitchy, I had a mild amount of fun running around and killing bad guys. In the demo, you play as an agent on the run through an urban environment. Relentlessly pursued by street toughs, it's kill or be killed in this crime drama that features some pretty cool gunplay. You can obviously take cover and blow guys away when the time's right, but 100 Bullets features a host of cool moves that make running and gunning very appealing.

For starters, you can manipulate the environment to your advantage. If a bad guy is hiding behind a car window, shoot it out and then pop him in the head, or if he's standing underneath a traffic light, shoot it down so it explodes and sends him flying. You can even take out the tires to cars, but if you'd rather take a more hands on approach, you can take human shields as well as slit throats! It's fun if you accept the game for what it is, but that doesn't mean it's perfect.

Only 70% complete, 100 Bullets was a very sloppy game that features atrocious clipping and a horrid camera that often gets stuck behind doors (without you on screen!). I hope Acclaim addresses these issues, because the game could crash and burn if nothing's done.

The glitches may be ugly, but they don't come close to the game's dialogue. It seems like the "F" word has replaced the word "A" because it gets tossed around A LOT in this game. The game curses like a sailor, though if you're used to this it shouldn't be a huge deal.

100 Bullets may get lost in the shuffle when it's finally released, but what Acclaim's put together is mildly impressive, and I can't wait until I can get my hands on a final version.
