Various reports across the Internet are stating that the latest version of the Xbox 360 hardware has hit retail shelves. This revision, code-named 'Jasper,' reportedly features a smaller (65 nanometer) GPU chip and a 150 watt power brick. If this purported hardware change is real, it could potentially make the system run a great deal cooler and likely result in fewer irreversible hardware failures.
The 'Jasper' model is also said to include 256 MB of internal memory, which can be used for downloads, game saves and the newly released New Xbox Experience. As with all major hardware revisions to the Xbox 360, Microsoft has refused to publicly confirm any of the modifications, saying that such practices are "commonplace within the industry" for what they call "a variety of reasons."
