Dhani Harrison is currently the frontman for band Thenewno2, but has also helped work on some of the technology behind the Rock Band series. The son of the late Beatles great George Harrison also helped sell the idea of The Beatles: Rock Band to rights holders Apple Corps.

"I guess I'm accidentally responsible for Rock Band becoming the Beatles digital platform, but it was a no-brainer," said Harrison to the Chicago Tribune. "It's really difficult to get the Beatles to agree on anything, but I set up demos for them and [longtime Beatles confidant] Neil Aspinall instantly saw the potential."

Harrison is not done with the Rock Band franchise, though, and even hinted that the next iteration won't just feature new songs.

"I'm working on Rock Band 3 and making the controllers more real so people can actually learn how to play music while playing the game," he says. "Give me a couple years, it's going to happen."

The music gaming genre hasn't really evolved too much in the past couple of years, so making instrument controllers (particularly guitars) more realistic is the next logical step.
