Today, Nintendo announced a new online storefront of online titles an applications for the DSi. Called the Nintendo DSi Shop, the first five titles were also announced for the service. These games will include WarioWare: Snapped!, Bird & Beans, Brain Age Express: Math, Master of Illusion Express: Funny Face and Art Style: Aquia.

"The concept of entertainment is clearly expanding to enable self-expression and creation in ways never before possible," said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "Nintendo DSi is loaded with software to help people do exactly that. It's not just about the cameras or audio playback, but what people can do with these features that makes Nintendo DSi such an enjoyable game system."

The DSi and the first five games for the Nintendo DSi Shop will launch on April 5, 2009.

Nintendo DSi Unboxing

Nintendo sent over our review copy of the DSi today -- and along with it -- a delicious cake from Pink Cake Box specialty bakery in NYC.

Everything is edible on this bad boy, including the DSi and a bizarre picture of my face pasted on Robin Yang's head, taken when Nintendo was in our offices a few weeks ago.

The camera mode on the DSi lets you distort pictures, add stickers and create frames for other pictures, so you could hypothetically, put your face on Mario's body -- if you're so inclined.

Nintendo Cake and Balloons -- it's a party!

The cake's cool, but this box with the DSi...

    .... is the main event.
