MIGS sets a record for attendance (helped by opening the event to the public) and further boosted the profile of the game industry in Canada.

Alliance numerique announced that the Montreal International Game Summit (MIGS) had over 1,500 attendees. The fifth annual edition of the event more that doubled its attendance compared to 2005. Additionally, it was revealed that a study has placed the Quebec video game industry sixth qualitatively in the global sector.
"This year's Summit demonstrated its growth by offering more than 100 conferences and exhibits including innovative round tables focusing on the themes of production and mobility," said Alain Lachapelle, Executive Director, MIGS. "MIGS is clearly a must-attend industry event, attracting leading experts and professionals from all over the world."
MIGS 2008 took place November 18 - 19 at the Palais des Congres.
