Nintendo made some noteworthy announcements for the DS platform at their E3 press conference this afternoon and perhaps the biggest surprise was a new Grand Theft Auto title. The DS will be getting its own version of the popular open-world franchise with the release of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. No gameplay details or screen shots have been released.

Guitar Hero: On Tour: Decades was also announced. Yes, On Tour was just released recently, but this is another Guitar Hero game in case you need get your fix. Not much was talked about it, however, one new feature discussed was song sharing between multiple DS consoles. The game is set to release this Fall.

Another announcement was Spore Creatures from Electronics Arts, which is still on track for its Fall release. The primary focus of the title will be in creature creation as players advance through 12 levels.
