Gears of War 2 is 'Epic's Best Work,' says Bleszinski

Microsoft and Epic Games sent word today that the much anticipated Gears of War 2 has gone gold in preparation for its worldwide launch on November 7. The original Gears of War was an instant hit and has sold five million units to date. The sequel will lead an aggressive holiday charge for the Xbox 360 when combined with the recent price cuts, the upcoming launch of the New Xbox Experience, and other big titles from third parties. EEDAR analyst Jesse Divnich said recently that he expects Gears of War 2 to be the single best selling SKU of the holiday season.

Epic Games Design Director Cliff Bleszinski is extremely confident in his latest work and the Gears franchise. "After two years of pouring our heart and passion into Gears of War 2, the team is immensely happy with what we've created," he said. "This is Epic's best work yet, and we can't wait to see the response from fans and newcomers to the series alike."

In addition to the standard edition for $59.99, Microsoft is offering a Limited Edition for $69.99.
