Broadcom Corporation announced today that it has signed a deal with Electronic Arts. Under terms of this agreement, the semiconductor company, which deals with wired and wireless communications, will enable certain EA Mobile games on mobile phones powered by Broadcom. The various game titles will be optimized for the VideoCore III mobile multimedia processor, which supports high definition content.
"With EA offering its exciting titles on VideoCore III processors, Broadcom can deliver a richer, more exhilarating mobile gaming experience," said Mark Casey, Vice President and General Manager of Broadcom's Mobile Multimedia line of business. "The Broadcom BCM2727 processor continues to set the bar for low power, extreme mobile multimedia performance and is receiving significant recognition within the mobile device and gaming communities."
"The new Broadcom VideoCore III processor delivers the unique combination of cutting-edge 3D graphics performance, at low power, for extended gaming on a mobile phone," said Travis Boatman, Vice President of Worldwide Studios for EA Mobile. "We are excited for EA Mobile titles to be among the first games to deliver this type of quality visual experience to the mobile handset."
