Recent reports have suggested that Sony may be looking to lighten the load of 80GB PS3s on store shelves, and Kotaku reports that they may be looking to do so with software bundles. Citing several Best Buy employees, the site is reporting that the big box retailer will be getting 80GB PS3s that include Metal Gear Solid 4 and Killzone 2.
The report says that the new PS3 bundle will be hitting store shelves on Sunday, July 12. The bundle will retail for $399, equal to the current asking price of a standard 80GB PS3.
We have to give Sony and/or Best Buy credit for anteing up on this bundle. Metal Gear Solid 4 and Killzone 2 are two of the best exclusive titles on the system, and even if Sony lowers the price with a PS3 Slim later this year, customers still should be very happy with their purchase.
