Wii Sports was the top selling video game in the Japanese market during 2007, and at the rate at which the new Wii Fit is selling it could become Japan's top title for 2008. The Nikkei has reported that the game (which comes with a special balance board peripheral) has already sold over one million units in just slightly over one month.

Nintendo has yet to announce an official release date for Wii Fit in North America. During a special E3 roundtable last year, Shigeru Miyamoto indicated that Nintendo would be doing some focus testing to determine whether they need to alter the board's design for Americans. At the time, he joked that Nintendo would need to create a "supersize" board and that they're testing it out on Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime.
