Yesterday, rumors surfaced suggesting a mass exodus from Tecmo and an accompanying class-action lawsuit from said ex-employees. Today, news came out confirming these reports to be true, at least in part. Reports translated by Kotaku are saying that two Tecmo employees are suing the company for 8.3 million yen ($76,800) in unpaid wages. Representing 300 other Tecmo employees, the suit contends that Tecmo has not properly been compensating its workers for overtime hours, violating various labor laws.
June has been a troubled month for Tecmo, starting with the filed resignation of Team Ninja head Tomonobu Itagaki. The company immediately shot back at Itagaki and said that the rest of the development team was still intact. Tecmo's stocks still took an almost immediate hit, however.
