Guinness Launches Gamer's Edition 2008

Guinness World Records today announced that it is offering a "definitive guide to all gaming records, facts and figures." This new publication, titled Guinness World Records: Gamer's Edition 2008, will be available in the U.S. on March 11. The records inside the book include Halo 3 as the "Highest Grossing Game In One Day" for $170 million in first day sales in the U.S. alone and "Fastest Completion Time For A Game Of Super Mario Bros." at five minutes flat.

"So why has Guinness World Records, the world's best selling copyrighted book, expanded into the world of gaming? The answer is simple; because the gaming industry is too big to be contained in just a few pages of the annual book," said the release by Guinness World Records. "As gaming records are one of the largest sections in the Guinness World Records database it only made sense to create the Gamer's Edition to highlight the amazing facts and figures that have made the gaming industry what it is today."
