GTA IV Ads Pulled From Chicago Transit

A Fox News affiliate recently published a story questioning the placement of ads for Grand Theft Auto IV on Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) buses and buildings. This comes after a weekend of violent shootings in the Windy City. CTA president Ron Huberman responded to the report by saying that the ads would be coming down post-haste.

This is not the first time that Grand Theft Auto advertisements have come under fire on public transit. Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich publicly called out the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas advertisements used by the CTA in 2004, and they were also withdrawn in that case. There have also been attempts to get mature game ads removed in Boston, Portland and Denver, though the latter attempt was unsuccessful.
