Trademork is reporting that Activision recently filed a trademark for something called DJ Hero. The filing covers, "computer game software and related instruction manual sold together as a unit; interactive video game programs; computer game discs; downloadable software for use in connection with computer games; video game controllers; Interactive video game comprised of a CD or DVD sold as a unit with a video game controller."
While this would seem to indicate that a game involving turntables is in the works, a trademark filing is far from a game announcement. After all, Activision has filed numerous patents that are thematically similar to Guitar Hero (such as Guitar Villain and Drum Hero), so the publisher may simply wish to protect their IP. Still, there is a chance Activision will want to expand the franchise out in directions alternative from the recently announced Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.
