Hack Your Wii -- It's Easy!
Say the word "hacking" and it conjures up images of soldering irons, complicated computer configurations and Keanu Reeves from The Matrix. Fortunately, you don't need any of those things to run cool homebrew software that will play old-school games or MP3s on your Wii.
Armed with an SD card, a computer with an SD card slot (or adapter), a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, it's just a matter of following these four simple steps to turn your plain old Wii system into something more Wii-tastic

amandac51096, how is it not worth it? It's free, Nintendo won't do anything about it, and you can cir***vent paying $10 for a game you've probably bought 8 times throughout the year. not to mention S***mVM gives you the ability to play old S***M games (monkey island, grim fandingo, etc.), which is more of a hassle to get working on Vista than it is on the Wii. As far as jail time goes, I'll probably get in more trouble for my modded 360, PSP, M3 cart for the DS and all the DC games I burned. Nintendo could care less about pursuing legal matters.
as said by mykryptonite619, actually jsut hacking the wii is not illegal. The illegal part of doing this is using the emulators. but seriously who friken cares? MILLIONS of people, yes MILLIONS of people use the R4 card for the DS. This is pretty much the same thing except for the wii. Nintendo is not gonna waste their time trying to track down every last person who hacks the wii or else everyone who uses the R4 card would have been sued by now cuz the R4 card has been out for more than 2 years.

this thing is partly legal but is basicaly setting u up for time in jail and major fines. it is advised you do not do wut they r tellin u because they propably got sued by nintendo

obsoiete: It's illegal to modify the console to use emulators/play downloaded movies. Thus why it voids the warranty to do so. There are some legal uses to doing this to the Wii, but the majority of the people who would use this modification are people who would use it for piracy/illegal uses.

No one is coming to your mothers basement to give your pimply face a fine for playing Super Mario Brothers II. The game is worth $3 dollars at best.
