Hack Your Wii -- It's Easy!
Say the word "hacking" and it conjures up images of soldering irons, complicated computer configurations and Keanu Reeves from The Matrix. Fortunately, you don't need any of those things to run cool homebrew software that will play old-school games or MP3s on your Wii.
Armed with an SD card, a computer with an SD card slot (or adapter), a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, it's just a matter of following these four simple steps to turn your plain old Wii system into something more Wii-tastic

If You have any ROM games, You can LEGALLY play them if you own the actual game. EVEN if it is on an old NES cartridge or Genesis Cartridge. Because you legally own it. This is also a loophole for downloading music. If You own an old school vinyl record and don't want to go thru the painstaking things to rip it off onto your computer. Download the track. If the cops show up, then all you have to do is show them your Vinyl collection. However if you dont have any legally purchased games/music you are breaking the law.
"zallarr on 8/16/2008 6:36 am You bought the wii. You have full ownership rights to it. You can do whatever the hell you want with it. Including- hacking, modifying, etc. It's fully legal. You can do this with your own computer, your own tv, your own anything because YOU BOUGHT IT, YOU OWN IT COMPLETELY." but you didnt buy the games you download. thats the illegal part. still tho.. its not like i havent done it before. its more so stealing than it is copyright infringement.
well i mean i COULD get some of the sega games i already own. my sega just refuses to work usually. i usually would rather play it on the system itself, but i lost the power cord on my nes. just to be safe i might use the wii shop anyway. idk.
so how do you do this? theres def. games that i want but not payin 50 bucks for it! so please tell me what do i gotta go to?

obsoiete99 You wrote exactly what I was thinking! GOD people are idiots. They are afraid of getting fined for hacking their wii? Seriously people the government have better things to do...hopefully. I just cant believe what babies people are. Will all you crying *****es please just take off your halo and LIVE A LITTLE
woah being able to listen to weird al's running with scissors album on your wii is totally worth it
Ummm.... Honestly, what's the point? If you're reading this or posting here, chances are you have access to a computer, and a computer can do ALL those things just fine, except for maybe the Mii storage thing. Plus most computers have better memory capacity, and addable drives. These mods are neat and all, but I would just rather do it on the compy, if just to prevent too many file transfers.
Just to clear this up: IT IS NOT ILLEGAL TO MOD YOUR Wii!! There are plenty of legal uses for homebrew and hacks! Such as cheating in your games with the homebrew app ocarina. Chck out my homebrew tut vids youtube.com/user/nintenbrew
doesnt the scan of ur wii during updates catch this kind of stuff that renders your wii into a useless husk? Ide totally do it if it werent for being caught by the scan
