Why We Stopped Playing GTA IV

Not everything is rosy in Liberty City. Now that the hype train slowed down, Grand Theft Auto IV has issues, and we're not talking about the high-priced hookers.

Hanging out with people blows

Rockstar created this sprawling metropolis that begs to be explored but ruined it by forcing us to chill with everyone. Taking a scenic drive, bashing someone's brains with a baseball bat and outrunning the law becomes less cool when some bozo gives us a ring and asks to go to the strip club. We can only watch those same three dances so many times, and the same goes for hearing our annoying girlfriends scream out lame dialogue while doing the horizontal mambo. To make matters worse, not meeting up with these people causes our ratings to drop, which affects our good standing. Bottom line, real life is difficult enough without having to worry about our virtual friends.

yes, i'll agree that Halo 3 was one of the most over-rated game releases ever... but I dont see what the problem is with GTA4. Its got badass open-ended gameplay, sweet graphics, a great storyline. Its like the epitome of what a sandbox game should be. Yes, hanging out with in-game friends can get a little tedious, but not enough to get in the way of what is a fantastic game

...wow, one of their main points is about the *gasp* semi-clothed strippers. Get a life, reviewers, you don't play Grand Theft for the boobies. And if you do... well, I hope no woman is ever unlucky enough to date one of you.

Reading these reviews of games is making me laugh. Hard. There are so many things wrong with this review I can't even begin to start. I'm pretty sure the people who review games for here are middle aged men who are too set in their ways. But to each their own I guess. GTA , in my opinion is great. I love doing all the little stupid things to get my achievements (ie befriending people). And so what, the girls don't take their cllothes off. Would you sit there and watch some virtual brod all day? If it's good nudity you want, go rent a porn, pervs.

1. You only have to be friends with 3 people, and it's only if you want to unlock certain features and/or get 100 percent. If you don't like going off with your friends, don't pick up (loser.) 2. I have the game, and so do a lot of my friends. I don't know what you're talking about with the 360 version..seriously. 3. If Cops behaved any more like they did in the real life, this game wouldn't be fun anymore. It's nice to have to option to one small thing and be able to escape, or some big things and challenge yourself to, and this system is so much better and more fun than previous releases. 4. Whoever is playing this game and writing this review...obviously can't play it. It's very easy to control, and I can't believe that the new (and SOOO much better) control sceme is STILL something you're complaining about. Oh, and you can counter punches if you're not an idiot. 5. I can't believe that this man just said Rockstar needs to put more thought into its characters. SHAME! You need to put more thought into your review, and life. 6. Please, never complain about a lack of computer generated breasts again. It was a smart move to not push the envelope with naked women, and the Strip Clubs is SERIOUSLY not what GTA is supposed to be about. Besides, it's not THAT much money for a lapdance =]. 7. Most missions, while they may take a while, are generally pretty short. A few play throughs should be enough to be able to beat them, but even the more difficult ones...a checkpoint is not going to help that much. It would be a waste, there's really not enough missions that are long enough to impliment a feature like that. 8. ACHIEVEMENTS ARE REWARDS. The game challenges you, and gives you a reward to then spend on what you would like in a virtual store. Handing away achievements is like handing away money and work. Chris, you are so disappointing.

A lot of butthurt GTA fanboys here. GTA is a good game, but a lot of things in this article are true. It is overrated(almost as overrated as Halo 3...don't even get me started on Halo 3). The hanging out with buddies thing is a neat innovation, but after your first day of playing it already becomes an annoyance. The missions are pretty fun, but failing a mission at the very last step, driving all the way back, and having to try to complete it from the very beginning sucks. Also, the auto-aim targeting can be a real pain, but that can be turned off anyway. All in all, it's a decent game and people really need to stop insulting the writer of this article. You're just being stupid.

haha i laaugh at ne1 who has trouble beating this game cuz i have limited use of my hands n i freakin beat it!!!! hahaahaa u all fail quit whining newbs

the game is great. i was one of those freaks waiting in line in the rain at mid***ht to get it the minute it was released. but part of the beauty of video games is getting away from people. nobody calls you up and asks you to go to a strip club in resident evil.

As you can tell most people hate you right now, and seeing how hard Rockstar worked on this game, and realisticly cannot change most of the things you asked for, their probably pissed off at you too. I think the only reason this article was made was because GTA 4 is very hot right now, and you needed an article on it, whoever made this article should think of what he's writing and try to not just piss people off and make a more senseful aricle.
