Hanging out with people blows
Rockstar created this sprawling metropolis that begs to be explored but ruined it by forcing us to chill with everyone. Taking a scenic drive, bashing someone's brains with a baseball bat and outrunning the law becomes less cool when some bozo gives us a ring and asks to go to the strip club. We can only watch those same three dances so many times, and the same goes for hearing our annoying girlfriends scream out lame dialogue while doing the horizontal mambo. To make matters worse, not meeting up with these people causes our ratings to drop, which affects our good standing. Bottom line, real life is difficult enough without having to worry about our virtual friends.

listen guy who wrote this thanks for wasting 10min. of my life this is the most BS i've ever seen in one artical
Top Reason Why I No Longer Read GameDaily: When I post my comment I have to reread the whole article. Hmm... and you stopped playing GTA IV because of "nonsensical save points?"
God, someone finally points out the godawful controls. 2/3's of the time I failed were directly related to not being able to target the ****er with the shotgun. (Admittedly, the other 1/3 was my crappy driving). I don't much mind anything else about it.
By the way, I think we should start listening to smart people, like this guy. This article makes a lot more sense now. "dropthegunxwar on 5/29/2008 10:13 pm what a clever publicity stunt by game daily. and youre all falling for it. hahaha. bash the crap out of the most popular game ever so everyone looks. tons of hits instantly. its not suprising for a branch of aol to base their writers opinions on things that will get them hits instead of actual honesty. however i do agree with the part about the game freezing. its happened to me plenty and its a real problem. its probably a combination of both the faultiness of ps3s and xbox 360s and the unreliability of the game itself. sad how an industry dying to make growth cant seem to overcome the most basic of problems."
Amen, deadmanjard. The writing on pretty much all AOL affiliated sites sucks.
The only issue you SORT OF have a point with is the lack of checkpoints, that annoyed me too. But... did you seriously complain about a lack of nudity? Wow, dude. Go watch Cinemax if you want to see some titties. Honestly, I'd rather ogle REAL GIRLS on the internet than, you know, computer generated ones. And, as for the gameplay issues... I didn't notice any. Maybe... just maybe... you suck at videogames. This is one more failure in a long series of failures for this **** website. I have no idea why I continue to read your articles.
I agree with number five, and that's about it. I would love to kill some child molesting priest. But seriously, you guys kind of need to step up your writing/research. How did you not know that the phone had sleep mode? Rockstar is not *that* dumb. Also, despite thatbcdisciple's lack of perception of grammar and when to end a sentence, he has a point. Why do you want to see virtual **** so badly? That's hardly a game-ruining aspect. Now, about the brain-dead police. When I shoot someone, maybe even a policeman, in GTA IV, I really don't want to have to drive for five minutes. It's not like it was a challenge in the other games either, just time-consuming. I have GTA for the 360, and my game has never freezed, not even once. It could be that you guys have old 360s with the old cooling system before they fixed the red ring of death problem, though. Now for the last couple things. I have never had a problem with the controls, the missions aren't so hard that you need to repeat them several times, with a few exceptions, and the achievements really aren't that hard. In fact, even one man army (Survive on 6 stars for 5 minutes) is incredibly easy if you find the right spot. I tried a dock and succeeded on my first try.
You guys are dumbasses, seriously.
To avoid being interrupted during a mission by a friend or wanting to explore the city without getting a call for another mission, bring up the cell phone menu. Enter the "Options" menu, and turn "Sleep Mode" on.
I have this game for the Ps3. I do not think that this aspect ruins the game play. I myself ignore the request from roman to go to the bar, ignore the request to go street racing, ignore other things that come across on the cell phone. The game play is still excellent in every aspect of the game. I agree that is sort of annoying about the strip club scenes. They could have included more variety with that aspect, having different actions, different angle, actually being able to view the main character in bed with his girlfriend. Over all I still give GTA IV a 10 out of 10.
