Video Game Addiction

Some say it plagues gamers across the globe, while others consider it a relatively harmless escape from the problems in the real world. Good or bad, we can't help but wonder – what are the most addictive games out there? We polled our staff and gaming compadres to come up with this list of games that are more addictive than caramel-covered popcorn.

where in the ****!! is final fantasy? this list sucks, I like most of these games..but seriously..there are plenty of more addicting games then the ones on this list..I just started playing final fantasy VIII..addicting as hell..maybe not as much so as final fantasy VII..but if any final fantasy game is gonna be on there..I def think it should be final fantasy VII.

seriously? im sorry but this is a terrible list of addicting games. most of the are very recent games that have only been out for less then a year. Others rare just old and have been there, but no body ever plays. and finally i think pokemon should be on this list. I know so many people that are of age 16 that still play pokemon

How does Mario Kart 64 not make this list it should be top 5 for sure, and even some variation of donkey kong should most definitely be on here.

I agree with cloudlywolf, but simply more broadly there were way too many new releases up here simply because they're new releases, not just just because it's hard to gauge whether or not they'll stay addictive in at least a couple years. Outside the top ten the only games I've played are Doom, Counterstrike, and Solitaire I believe (I have played Halo and Halo 2 though; haven't gotten Halo 3 as I'm a budget gamer and it doesn't really seem worth the price based on how it's really not innovative at all regarding the franchise). But yeah, all the shooters and RPGs that came out this year shouldn't be up there, and no sports game should be up there at all.

Okay i cannot see how zelda or pokemon was on here. and i do have to agree final fantasy should be on here because there are ppl that will spend 17 hours+ straight playing it. And if your going to put on a halo here at least put on halo 2. Gears of war is a good game but it is def. not deserving of the most addicting
