Back in the "good old days," gaming was simple. Video game controllers just had a joystick and a button. That was enough. The NES controller included another button, as well as a select and start buttons. No big deal, that's only four buttons, right? Now controllers contain upwards of 15 ways to control the game, which includes analog sticks that click downward, bumpers and triggers with multiple uses. It's just too much for your old-man hands to control.
Sonic isn't "almost 15". He was 16 when you wrote it. Now, in 2008, he's 17. My dad has some of these games lying around some where in the house, btw. I'm kind of a old school gamer. I play some of the old games and think that they are better than some of the new games. I'm 12, but the old Mario games and pac man I still enjoy better than most games. I still have the Nintendo 64. I think my dad hid the ps1 in his office at home somewhere.... lol.
snk classics wasnt even reservable. Thats why! i know this because i tried and its just one of those games that we couldnt put on preorder. something about snk and not leeting stores take preorders on thier games
Personally, as much as I like retro games, I'm not that 'old-school'. Yeah I realise some franchise are approaching their twenties, but I just progress from cartridge-consoles, with simple buttons, to CD-based console, with more complex controllers. I probably start consider myself old-school when I haven't tried all the next gen consoles.
lol, the last one had ET in it, I'm watching that right now.
im such a classic gamer ive got 2 ataris 2 nintendos and ive got pics of the games i play and the highscores i think the classics beat everything they r great especialy the game DRAGSTER
i may not be old at all. only 14, but id still say im an old school gamer. i would much rather play the classic games then all this new garbage like halo and call of duty. i still have my original NES. doesn't work though. damn thing burnt out a few years ago. that was the best thing ever. i remember playing duck hunt nonstop on that thing. and now whenever i go anywhere that has arcade machines, i look for Ms. Pacman. i love that thing. i always get the high score on it. never stop playing.
hey hey does anyone remmy Berzerk, or River raid- im talkin old school- I had the 2600 for under fifty bucks, Fifty bucks!... now isn't that nice? It was so fine on my black & white long after nintendo hit the scene- I have orig 8 bit, 64 (japanese version), cube, PS-1 with mod chip(still barely works, (Ahh- Soul Blade! you have taught me from the beginning to defeat my korean competition at the 7-11), and so i know all about keeping the greats. I rhink my ma may still have that 2600 stowed in the attic somewhere... i wonder?
I used to have PONG, then Atari, and also intellivision. We used to sit for hours in front of the tv playing those games. Its funny, thinking back, how we thought they were great. Looking at them now, how the graphics just stink....ugh. LOL But they were great games! We had fun with them!
I still love the tune to Pac Man. I hear the Pac Man tune and it brings back memories. LOL I used to spend hours upon hours at the sit down Pac Man game. LOL Memories.....
Wow!!! I have a 2600 hooked up to my Flat Screen, annndddd, I have NEVER played Halo, so ..... yep!! I'm an old tyme Gamer!! ha ha ha!
