Vote 'Yay' or 'Nay' on Dell's New World of Warcraft Laptop
Take Your Side: Horde or Alliance?
Dell puts World of Warcraft superfans firmly in its crosshairs with a new gaming notebook, customized for members of both the Horde and Alliance factions in the game.
Customers who signed up for early information via Dell's teaser program will receive an email link today with access to buy their WoW laptop. Everyone else will be able to buy the pricey $4,499 system starting Dec. 11.
As for the laptop -- it's essentially the same setup as the standard XPS M1730 notebook released in September this year. For the extra cash, The XPS M1730 World of Warcraft Edition laptop -- developed in collaboration with Blizzard are black notebooks that comes with either the Horde or Alliance symbols embossed on the cover and exclusive desktop images and screensavers as well.
The specialized XPS will also ship with a WoW backpack that will include the following:
-- WoW & Burning Crusade in retail boxes
-- Strategy Guides
-- Behind the Scenes, "The Making of WoW" DVD
-- WoW & Burning Crusade Paperback Novels
-- WoW Audio Soundtrack
It will also include a Quest Envelope (which ships separately from the system) with
-- a Blizzard beta key card with five keys used to access future WoW games
-- an upgrade certificate that allows customers to upgrade their accounts to a Collectors Edition Account so they can score a special in-game pet.
-- A Golden Ticket that lets you score a special custom action figure based on your WoW avatar.
If you live and breathe WoW (and who doesn't?) and want to replace that clunky tower with something a little more space conscious, this might be the laptop for you. If you just want to play WoW and don't want to break the bank, there are plenty of better laptop deals to be had. We'll outline more of these in our gaming laptop special next week.
