These games might seem right for the underage gamers in your house, but think again. Take a closer look at what games not to buy your kids this holiday.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

This might look like a patriotic game that will teach the kids American values, but it has an M-rating for a reason. Too-realistic combat that includes disturbing scenes where attack dogs chew out your companion's throats put this war game over the top. Buy the toned-down Nintendo DS version of the game instead, which has a more kid-friendly 'T' (for Teen) rating.

This article is unbelievably shallow minded towards these kinds of games. Sure there are games that have depictions of blood, and nudity, and violence, but there will always be these kinds of things around your kids. I mean...first, why complain about things such as "using the wii mote as a gun?" In the Umbrella Chronicles, they state "plus it requires players to point their Wii controller at the screen like an actual gun." This makes no sense because with every single wii game out there, you have to point the wii controller at the screen like an actual gun in order to make it work...its kind of how they designed it. So second, Yes Call of Duty is gory, yes its about a bloody war, and yes (believe it or not but) it does actually point out some good points of the war. The war in that era...no every war in history was bloody. It wasnt full of happy little unicorns and bunnies dancing around as people politely conversed about how to sort out their differences. It was brutal, bloody, and very depressing times. So why would they lie to you and create some stupid "war" game that you go around with a flower, and give pixie dust to elves? And third, Unreal Tournament, Conan, Gears, and Beowolf are all MADE UP, so of course they aren't exact replicas of war games, nor are they happy fantasies. Duh, gears isnt an actual war, and yes you do verse aliens who are trying to destroy mankind....why would you even consider this as someone trying to make it a realistic war that ACTUALLY happened? Its Sci-Fi horror genre that pits people up against a dangerous force threatening mankind, its what makes games interesting and fun. Suck it up and dont complain about kids playing these kinds of games. If you have such a problem with them, dont buy them for you kids. Its as simple as that.

It's not games that make kids violent, it just adds on to it. Kids who are violent most likely have hard times, or are the type of kids who love violence and always talk about it.

Oh my god! For RE aI didn'r know that pointing a remote like a gun could be as bad as AOL makes it. A duckhunt gun controller is more realistic than any Wii guns. And there are a lot of toys for little kids that look like guns (Nerf, Super Soakers, Tin Can Shootout, etc.) What dip**** made this list?!?! I think it would be hilarious to talk to them about their selection on games!

Im with dead pool, this is just another way to blame someone that isnt you. I truely believe that its up to the parent to judge weither thier kids are mature enough to play games like this. And also, there are a lot of literary values Ive found in videogames through my years of video gaming, and have yet to try and chainsaw someone down the middle.

******* whoever made this article..its up to the parents not the public to let them play the games.Ive also waisted alot of my time reading this when i couldve been playig call of duty 4..so for all the kids that read this,,go buy the game and play till you cant play anymore....and for you people that think its bad to play games well they can all go suuck their own D I C K in the corner because theyre are so afraid to try anything especially "VIDEO GAMES"!!!

This is typical America. People blaming everyone and everything but themselves for anything bad that might be their own fault. It's pathetic when parents try to get games banned because they're too violent for kids. Here's a thought, use your PARENTING skills and don't allow them to play it if you think it's bad for them. But no, parents seem to think that these games are the part of the main reason for kids being "violent". This is one instance where parents CHOOSE not to do their research. They say these things about video games because they would rather blame this medium than face up to the fact that they are just lazy/bad parents who can't take responsibility for messing their kids up. Video games have absolutely nothing to do with children being violent. Chances are if your kid is violent to the point of it being a problem, chances are it was a problem way before they started playing video games. Now parents have a scapegoat so they use it to it's full extent. Absolutely pathetic.

No offense but all these games are kinda no brainers. Don't let your kids play games rated "M" which all of these are. I am tired of people bashing video games. Can we have an article about maybe the top 8 your kids SHOULD play? Not everything is horrible and gory. Just take some responsibility and look at the game before your kid decides to buy it or play it or whatever. It's not that hard to actually pay attention to them and what they like or want to do, is it? Come on people.
