A DAY IN THE LIFE OF JIMMY (your average everyday teen):
Jimmy wakes up in the morning, he gets out of bed. Goes to school and casually exchanges four letter words and other obsenities with his pals (why not? thats what everyone's saying anyway) they decide they are going to go over to a friends house and watch 300 on DVD with plenty of snacks. After dining in hell with the Spartans, and having seen a ridiculous amount of gore and blood , among other things, Jimmy goes home and thinks it wise to kill (i guess literally you might say) a few hours by playing Wii's latest game Manhunt 2. After being able to chop a few people into peices (just like in 300!!!!! no way!) Jimmy turns on TV. After seeing the usual as he flips the channels, he comes to the news (only for a moment) to learn that theres been another mass shooting at some school. Jimmy is tired, and turns the TV off. But before he goes to bed, he decides to listens to "Highway to Hell" by AC/DC, and other similar songs. Jimmy falls asleep.
Conclusion: Did Jimmy know anything else except murder, violence and evil that day? Scary isn't it? I wonder how Jimmy would turn out after all of that?
That day I just described was completely hypothetical, but it is anything but improbable. Im sure variations of it have happened multiple times. I've seen it before. Do you think a kid like Jimmy would care about the ppl who died at some school he doesnt go to? I doubt it, just like the guy who did the shooting apparently didnt care....But does anyone make that relation? dont ppl understand how it all adds up? We should ask ourselves: How much have i stopped caring? What does it take to make me care?
Thats why, as a teenager, I feel so sorry for people who dont give a damn, and think these games and everything else is fine...you know its kind of ironic, how someone said in one of the comments that ppl are too sensitive....HA! I wish very badly that were the case, most people are not sensitive at all, of course why should they be? I guess thats a weakness isnt it? at least thats what your taught to think. But moving your Wii controller as though you were chopping somebody to pieces with an axe, and not squirming or thinking twice about it, i suppose that's strengh, i suppose thats what is human, nowadays. Well I thank God i'm not stupid enough to buy that... the worse the games get and more indifferent people behave towards them, i keep wondering how low we're willing to go...
it doesnt take much imagination to relate these games, movies and music to the increasing amount of violence we keep seeing...
However i refuse to think that im the only one that thinks this way, i know im not, its not hopeless, i think teenagers and people in general will wise up to this sooner or later, we'll realize just how much it can destroy our humanity, if anything on the inside....you dont need to kill someone to find out its wrong do you? of course not thats stupid, than whats so stupid about avoiding playing these games if you already know what their going to teach you? if i could talk to the people who make these games, id tell them im not falling for it, im not stupid enough to buy their garbage make them rich while I waste hours of my time pretending that I'm killing ppl...but its sad that theres still the brainless followers that do fall for it...
well as always, its up to you. But i wish people could think I little bit more.
Of course the people making the video games/movies/music would hate that cause thinking twice would stop ppl from buying, and after all they do want your money.. but what are you willing to exchange your humanity for? "Im only human" is incorrectly used, if we were human, we'd act very differently.
.....as for parents who let their kids play and listen and see all that crap and say NOTHING to them because they're oblivious, wow i have nothing to say you...

thucydidesm amuses me x3
If one has become so deluded, so completely blinded that they are not able to recognize the danger of these games, then I feel no pity for them. I will continue to watch as the minds o*****eneration die, never knowing their potential. No creativity of self, you fools. No literature, mathematics, art, discovery, relationship cultivation - no self. I assure you, this world has seen the last of true self-expression if it is of sound mind to accept such things as these. Not a single one of you while playing these games are doing anything creative, at all; ever think about your own mind? It is more powerful than any calculator, and millions of people will never realize that. Does it take a genius to realize the lack of creative thought process involved in playing these games? I am beginning to think it does.
I feel the same way about the 60 dollar games man, thats why you gotta buy them used, like go to gamestop and pick up the used version for 10 dollars less, and then return it within 7 days if you dont like it, thats what ive done and it works perfectly.
Hey Rosebud, there is violence in the world because IDIOTS like YOU vote for other IDIOTS like BUSH. Its got nothing to do with video games, your just trying to use games as an excuse for being either a bad parent or and idiot. Idiot.
What makes this different from movies and other games is this: Movies you are watching - not doing. Other non-Wii games, you are doing the actions with keyboard strokes. This game you are participating by making the actuall real life physical movements it would take to kill people........ WHAT ARE WE THINKING? DUHHHH!!!!!!
to lindakilker. When I post comments I dont bother to go back and proof read them. I will consider taking your advice and actually spend some minutes of my life proof reading, and making grammar corrections to my posts. Sorry about the incorrect spelling and critical grammar errors, I will make sure I cut them down. I dont think I need to practice basic english composition since I did incredibly good in ENC 1101, 1102, and Ap english. I appreciate the thought =p
You know what should be a topic that pisses off people ALOT?.... How do people feel about paying 65 dollars for a game, play it, realize the game is garbage, then instead of exchanging it for something else, they're forced to trade it in for 20 dollars and when they leave, the store puts it back up on the shelves for 60 dollars? Sound familiar to anyone???
to: ajpm Thanks for making my point.
THEN EVERYONE WANTS TO KNOW WHY THERE IS SO MUCH VIOLENCE IN THIS WORLD TODAY....WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH THE COMPANY'S THAT MAKE THESE GAMES...GUESS THEY ARE TRYING TO DESTROY OUR YOUTH...
