Manhunt 2 (Wii)
This action game from the makers of Grand Theft Auto caused a media frenzy that lasted for weeks. Why? It's gratuitously violent and requires the player to physically mimic the action on screen, such as jerking the Wii remote downward to shove a pen into an enemy's head. The most gruesome shots in the game have been partially censored, but this is one Wii game that's definitely not for everyone.

Who wrote all this biased crap? The only person capable of creating all of this blasphemy is Hilary Clinton herself. No but on a serious note, games that are rated M are not meant to be played by children, and if they are then too bad. I don't see why the author found it necessary to critisize these games just because they are either too realistic (Call of Duty 4) or too gory, once again they are meant to be played by adults. I just hate to see propaganda bull**** like this, especially coming from AOL.
this game sucks anyways "dont buy it" it should be a lesson in corporate marketing and how companies will still push to have a game made even though its horrible to promote the movie. tisk tisk. And we're worrying about violence.
what happens if a kid wants to kill somebody with an awe and you deny him the opportunity to do so in man hunt well good luck sleeping at ***ht.
there is a setting in the game where you can turn blood off anyways i bet that will make parents happy.
i think that it is good for gamedaily to put this up. this will give the careless parents who are buying their 12 year old children games like gears of war a wake up call. and maybe us 17+ kids will enjoy some peace and quiet in the game lobbies.
Shorty's somewhat right parents should know what they are buying and people should not have to need the violence in the video game to have fun. But I think you need to understand that 99% of gamers out there do not play a game because its bloody, they play it because it's fun. Take Super Smash Bros. for example. It is viewed by many to be one of the greatest games of all time yet there is no blood or chopping off people's heads. I like Counter-Strike because it's fun as hell, not because when you shoot someone, blood splatters the wall behind them. Same thing with Call of Duty. The blood is added to make the game realistic not more fun. For me all i care about is the fun but for many gamers realism is very important. As long as your kid recognizes the fun its all set.
( where it says "three four" it should be *four things*, the edit feature is a little crazy)
If kids really know the difference between right and wrong, they know what things not to say to other kids and do to other kids. If a child is really raised properly, he or she will know when that playing a video game is not real, going to school and interacting with other kids is real. These stupid kids that shoot up schools and shopping malls are simply looking for a scapegoat. Since these are kids, any reason they give the media is going to be eaten up like flies eat ****. Bottom line, kids should know the difference between reality and fantasy. If you can ingrain that into a child's brain, they could play anything without worries of mimicking.
i am a strong believer that games have never really hurt anyone. see unlike in games the modern media directly describes certain things that may not be 10 year old friendly. I've seen more people be influenced my one song than i have 100 games, not to say that music is bad but its a fact that cant be ignored. moreover its really the parents fault in the end anyway. i do agree that manhunt may be a little over the top but its frekin rated M for a reason! if you only look at the negative and the worst of the worst than u cant possibly make a reasonable assumption about games. it should be taught early on that u cant mimic media and who's job is that. the FREKIN PARENTS!!! so next time in maybe 40 years from now someone is harmed form video games there are three four that u now know u must look at. 1. are the parents idiots. 2. what games has the child played and has the child mimic that or other media. 3 what is the child exposed to. and finally 4. is the child very young or have a mental disability/ issues. as long as these things are kept in mind there should be no problems and every one should just leave the D*** games alone!!!!!!!!! thank you for your time if u have any issues with what i have said please be free to email me so i can argue with u and to help with the confusion that games are evil or manipulative. there not! ...is it really a terrible thing that people care about what their children are playing? In my opinion I think parents have the right to know about what kinds of games they are buying their kids for the Holidays. After all the holidays are about being with family and friends and focusing on the good things. I wouldn't want my younger brother violently killing people on his wii controler while uncle bob cuts the turkey. And on a side note its not realy about telling the diffrence between reality and illusions it's more why endulge yourselfs with extreme images of violence and brutality? If it takes this wierd realm of enertainment for a person to kick back then they need to find some other hobby. You guys are right...there are plenty of other vioelent and unfortuante things going on in America that have nothing to do with these games. Why not focus on trying to help people or branching out to other hobbies? Playing these games are just taking up your time and wasting your brains. Happy Holidays!!
