24. Serious Sam (Croteam)
Croteam's less-than-serious take on the genre works for one primary reason. It's fun as hell. Nothing beats mowing down loads of demonic beasts, charging bulls and supernatural Mayan warriors with a mini-gun and the sneering Serious Bomb. Not to mention Sam actually takes the time to call up the game's chief villain, Mental, via a phone booth to notify that he's coming to "get him."

This is all screwed up. The best first person shooter of all time is easily Perfect Dark followed closely by Golden Eye. Nothing else is even in the same league. In fact, all first person shooters after those two games have been complete disappointments - not unlike every game of it's genre past Twisted Metal 2.
Btw, if you're in a first person view, and are also shooting things (or a game that can consist of at least 50% of such gameplay) it deserves to be a part of the FPS genre whether it can also fit into another genre or not (they can have multiple genres listed). There are sub-genres to FPS but it should still count as FPS nonetheless. TPS is questionable as it acts somewhat like a FPS but has other features to it like hugging walls for cover, etc.
perfect dark was the shizznitt! but i like call of duty 4 and world@ war better than any of these games hit me up on the ps3 clutch1800
Minus an absent Tribes series (the newest, Vengeance, could have been better), I think it is a pretty good line up.
Where the hell is halo 2 and 3 there like the best freaking first-person shooter games in the world

Ok here's another analogy. Say a lot of people found Forrest Gump to be funny. Does that make it a comedy? No, it stays a drama and will always stay in a singular genre. FAIL list.Battlefield 2142 is horrible.Battlefield 1942 or Battlefield 2 should be on there. and as for bioshock being a FPS...its more like a adventure/role playing game other than that is was an ok list
