Sony's juggernaut console has hundreds of games, but these 25 shine the brightest. Guess which one is first. You're probably wrong.

25. Contra: Shattered Soldier (Konami)

It's time to grit your teeth, cock your weapon and show the world what you're made of. Contra: Shattered Soldier is the meatiest Contra game to date, only because it's the most difficult one ever made. That's just fine by us, though. Along with the challenge, you'll also find Shattered Soldier's gritty graphics and rock soundtrack par for the course.

ok how da hell did mgs3 win over mgs2?? i believe part 2 got better reviews then part 3 when they came out

WTF? NO KINGDOM HEARTS??? EVERYONE PLAYS KINGDOM HEARTS!!!!! *breathe in, breathe out* my top five for PS2. 5. GTA Vice city. 4. Sonic mega collection plus 3. whatever karaoke games I have in my collection 2.Kingdom Hearts 1. Shadow the hedgehog.

This list is terrible and missing great games...Kingdom Hearts 1and 2 should be on there, Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies, and I'm really disappointed that Sly Cooper isn't up further on the list. I'm mad that you guys are all dissing it because that was a great ass game. I'm sure those who say it should be off the list have never played it.

Okay, for all the bleating sheep screaming "SOCOM!" and "PRINCE OF PERSIA!" This is a PS2 list. It should only contain PS2 exclusive games. Both those series appear on other systems. Also, enough with the Kingdom Hearts. It was good, but it wasn't the best the system had to offer. I'm thrilled to see Klonoa on this list, since no one remembers that gem (it was practically a launch title.) Not so thrilled with the lack of Jak and Daxter and The first Ratchet and Clank. Also, MGS 2> MGS 3, and FFX>FXII. No contest. Those of you who say you haven't heard of half the games on this list must be younger than 14, because most (if not all) of those games were popular and/or reviewed well. Except Amplitude. What the F*** is that?

Wow you RPG nerds need 2 git some realization on the world of video games everyone knows that GoW was the action game if even one of the best video games of the decade of 2000. KIngdom hearts 2 owns Kingdom hearts 1 and it is a shame such a ground breaking action game for me(action/RPG) was not placed on here. but still if you were a scientist in the year 3000 n you wanted 2 check the gamedaily archives for the top 25 ps2 games of all time, would you want a game that diddnt really difine the true capabitly of the ps2. i for one thought that Shadow of the collosus should have been placed in the spot of ICO; who can put a price on a giant moving puzzle level! GTA san andreas should have been moved up higher; if it wasnt for that damn sex scene heat it got. two good as seris that diddnt make in on here is the socom seris or the CAll of duty seris! another real good game that should be on this list and isnt is Psychonuats(A damn good platformer that didnt git wat it deserved) and if you havent played it then dont say ****about it. other than that every game that was on this list got where it should be.IMO n i have played every game oh n ratchet n clak owns Jak n daxter by far n i have only played the 1st ratchet n clak

a for god of war it may not be everyones cup of tea, but it does contain everyth*** a great game should have. good grahphics, controls story, personality, versatility in comba,t insane god like powers and a ton of bonus features. and let us not forget the abillity to have sex with two hot chicks at the sme time lol. if kratos went to the world of final fantasy he would most likely end up having sex with lulu and tifa at the same time. ^_^

well final fantasy is not a girls game per say, but the current final fantasy games appeal to girls more then the other ones do. a few key points , they no longer show girls with large breasts, the males look all efiminate, (wich japanese girls love and many north american anime fan girls also like, there is more romance then before.) now not saying there isnt anything for guys in that game, just saying its aimed at girls mostly. theres also the fact that alot of guys like a few aniems aimed at girls . i enjoyed ff7 8 was ok , 9 was funand kinda nostalgic and 10 had great combat, (the characters didnt appeal to me)
