25. Faceplates (Game Boy Micro)
Microsoft receives a ton of credit for releasing faceplates for its Xbox 360, but Nintendo got the jump on its rival with the deceased Game Boy Micro. The pint-size portable sports interchangeable faceplates that let you customize your mini system. Too bad only a handful exist.

Hello? What about analog sticks?? What about shoulder buttons/triggers? What about the D-Pad? What about analog triggers? These are credited along with the cited rumble "gimmick" as Nintendo inventing the modern game controller. If rumble is a gimmick worthy of this article, so must these other then-riskyinnovations
