25. Dr. Mario (NES, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance)
When nasty viruses run amok, only Dr. Mario has the cure. This challenging puzzle game tasks you with eliminating viruses with vitamins, the goal to use different colored capsules to destroy the bugs and move onto the next stage. Now that it's on DSi (in the form of Dr. Mario Express), we can take the good doctor wherever we go.

to whiteclouds94: NES means Nintendo Entertainment System, and SNES means Super Nintendo Entertainment System. they're acronyms.
I don't wanna soumd dumb or anything, but what the heck does SNES or NES mean?
N-i-g-h-t time spooks, GOSH!!!
***ht
I mean't to put "***ht Time"
I thought Luigi's mansion should have been in this, although that isn't Mario. It has a Mario character. Seriously, who doesn't like sucking up ***ht time spooks so they will never be seen again (the game isn't that scary though).
Mario, you are the Jesus of Video Games. Too this day, 'Super Mario Bros." is the best selling video game in the world.
I agree, the original should be the first. However, "Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga" is an incredible game, it is so much fun too play, it's comical, and it has a villian that will problebly never appear again. I beaten that game five times over, and It still hasn't lost it's touch. Personally, I thought "Super Mario Sunshine" Should have been in the top five or ten at least. I don't care what the critics said, it is a great game.
I agree with previous comments. The original should be #1 just because of its influence. There would be no paper mario or yohii games without its success. The NES Mario 3 should be next but you have to give more credit to the Mario and MarioKart on N64. It was at that time that playstation was making its push and the success of those games helped keep Nintendo in the running.
mario you rule
