25.) Alien Hominid
Classic 2-D shooting lives on with Alien Hominid, a game inspired by Konami's Contra franchise. As a cute little alien, you invade earth and cause as much death as possible. Standing in your way are there pesky FBI agents that'll stop at nothing to thwart your plans for world domination. It sound cute but Alien Hominid is exceptionally difficult, and it's not uncommon to die several times within seconds.

Dude. I mean, what's wrong with you guys? Tales of Symphonia was (and is) one of the best selling "Tales of" installments out of the 10 years the series has been running. Oh. I might add it was for the Gamecube. The GAMECUBE. I mean, I understand if you're not one for JRPGs, but seriously, chaps. This one was a jewel. I could go on forever about how much I like it, but, the best thing about it is it's possibly infinite replay value. Also, I'd understand if it was the second game that didn't make it on the top 25 list (imo it was awful) but I mean, you can't be so engrossed in your "manly" video games to over look really good ones.
i saw someone said "why no Phantasy Star Online? why no FF:CC?" what? are you serious? those games were terrible. FF:CC was the most repetive game i've ever played and PSO was just plain terrible. it ran on a slow frame rate, had little to no guidence, the only thing good was the customization. and someone said Fire Emblem, which was a nice try. it was a great RPG for people into that, but i wouldnt put it on the list because its one of those games that you either absolutely love it or despise it. i loved it, but i bet many hated it for its turned-based chess like gameplay.
so i really think Tales of Symphonia should have been on the list. it might not be an amazing RPG(i loved it, one of my favorites, but thats an opinion. it was graphically declined and cliche' to the max though), but it was probably the best RPG on the GCN. that should be credit to get it on the list, considering it was one of the few RPGs worth playing on GCN. i think it was pointless to put Metroid Prime 2 on the list since Metroid Prime 1 already had a spot. should have just mentioned number 2 with 1. Wind Waker is good. stop complaining people. your opinions dont count as to making it a good game or not. some of us actually can see it from a gaming point of view rather than labeling it as **** because we didnt like one part in the story or the boat was ***(i didnt like the boat...why'd it talk?). personally i didnt like the actual wind waker, he should have got a different instrument, but the game as a whole was pretty awsome. beautiful graphics, a story that flowed and was original(as original as a Zelda story can get). OoT still beats it and Twilight Princess' butt though :P RE4 deserves #1. please dont flame it because you think its for jocky idiots just wanting to shoot zombies because its a lot more than that. the story was great, sucked me right in, and the battle mechanics worked great(i never finished the game on the GCN i got the Wii version after borrowing the GCN one. a whole lot better even though the GCN one was great anyway). its a lot more than just shooting zombies. please note this and dont flame it until you actually try it.
why are you all complaining wind walker is the best
you all know you enjoyed wind waker even if it wasnt the best of the zelda series.
o shut up and quit whining because ur favrites didnt crack the list u bunch of babies
@ furotica2 First of all, Zelda is one of the best game series EVER. My opinion, of course, but the music is excellent. If they ever changed it, I would die. It's classic, and just because they use the same tune, doesn't mean they don't use an orchestra. Because in the newer games, they do. I agree that wind waker wasn't one of their greatest games, but Twilight Princess is no contest. One of my favorites. I for one like the classic nintendo music, it brings back memories. Go play your God of War while the more appreciative gamers play the classics. And as for the list, WHERE'S PHANTASY STAR ONLINE?? I loved that game. And where's Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles? That deserved to at least be on the list. What's with all the Resident Evil crap...
WIND WALKER??? r u kidding me?
Eternal Darkness should be in the top 10. But I do agree with Resident Evil 4 being the best game on the Gamecube, infact it's probably the best game I've seen in the past 4 years.
Man, Wind Waker suuuuuucks. Sure, the "toon" style mightve looked good (it IS a Zelda game after all, so it doesnt matter WHAT style they went with, it would look good)....but not -everyone- has a hardon for this "chibi meets Tartakovsky" BS style. (Much like the ugly Clone Wars style) Regardless, the style could be looked over. What made the game blow, was having to spend countless BORING hours floating over a sightless sea, listening to the horrible synth music repeating itself (which brings up my question of, WHY is one of the biggest, most valuable and money-making game franchises STILL using HORRIBLE, N64-sounding CRAP for its music, vs say, a REAL ORCHESTRA like most games today tend to? Its not like Nintendo doesnt have the money--theres no excuse! The lame sounding synth music ruined Twilight Princess for me, too! Take ANY battle music in ANY Zelda and put it next to ANY battle track from God of War-- NO COMPARISON!), all just to find something you cant even access yet. The game itself was decent-- but who the hell wants to spend hours floating over an empty landscape when you could be, i dunno, actually PLAYING something?
