why is this an article? i mean i love playing game demos on my pc (i have no money to actually buy the games), but cmon, top 25 game demos? taking a page from digitaldis4ster, thats like a list of top 25 steering wheels. i agree with isbetterferu, demos are meant to give you a taste o*****ame to see if you like it, but i dont think they warrant an article from a gaming news site, and based on the rating for this article, most agree

The point of the matter is that people are going nuts for something that they thought was worth reading. Your comparison's were fine until you brought up the steering wheel. Demos are meant to entice you into whether or not if you wanted to continue what you started. And these people's comments on some of the games. I'm starting to think putting a submit comment box was one of their worst ideas. Rarely, will you ever see someone say, "Hey, cool article."

First of all, yeah, the title was misleading, equivalent to saying "Here, have a cheeseburger." and then saying, "What I meant to say was, 'here, have a cheeseburger for three dollars'." Secondly, who pays for demos? Thirdly, what's so awesome about a link to a downloadable demo? It's equivalent to saying, "Here try this steering wheel for free. If you like it, buy the car!" There are thousands of free games that are worth linking to. Hell, just a link to [adult swim]'s online games are worth a link. So this is just another example of an illconcieved article.

Wow, you guys are a bunch of ungrateful, ignorant, and arrogant pricks i have ever had the unsightly pleasure of reading upon. This is the top 25 free demo downloads. Not the top 25 free NEW demos. This is not the top 25 greatest games of all time demos. This is the top 25 free demos. Which most likely means these games got the highest amounts of downloads or that these are games that you have to try, for free. And it's actually a nice article because some of these games i wanted to play but didn't know there was a demo for it. It's a helpful one. Damn, you guys are never pleased with anything are you? And i'm not talking about the earlier mis-leading title, I'm just talking about the links to these demos.

Why are we reading about demos for games that have been otu for years? Psychonauts was released on the XBOX, a platform that isn't even being supported anymore.

  • libenyc on 7/8/2008 7:21 pm

Also -- yes, we changed the title because we realized (after reading your comments) that the original 'Free Games' headline was a little misleading...

AssWar games? Is this a genre I haven't heard about yet?

  • michaelkanio on 7/8/2008 1:48 pm

WOW, this is just a bunch of *** ass War*** games. The only good thing there is PsychoNauts. Psychonauts>***AssWar***Games

Too Bad Crysis already came out 2007. There is no demo yet for Crysis Warhead, which is due to come out this year.
