20. Achievement Points
Few things are more satisfying than seeing the Xbox 360's "Achievement Unlocked" popup. By convincing developers to program additional challenges into their games (and assign points to them), Microsoft created an unstoppable juggernaut that not only ups a game's replay value, it also makes crappy ones look somewhat appealing.

wow not only gamedaily posted a good article (for once) but at the same time they made it the best Christmas and prove God dos exist Kudos
man, i hate gamedaily, but this was a really good list. the only flaw is nonlinear plots, which i think is a huge innovation which is still to be distributed in a lot of games, definetly a big thing in the future. good list, gamedaily. first time they've got one right. kudos.
No Game Genie? Come on! Pretty good list. It feels weird being happy.
I'm all about the Achievement Points. That was a brilliant idea for the 360. I almost picked up Avatar: The Burning Earth just for the easy points. Almost. Good list. : )
peppermint, you don't know the half of it. Sony actually stole the idea of the PlayStation from Nintendo, when they asked if Sony could make a CD attachment for the SNES, and they even called it the PlayStation.
My only issue is that they seemed to imply that Sony thought of analog first. Which they didn't. Nintendo was the first console to implement this technology. Sony just copied it, just like sony always does...
There he is! :)
Haha, surprisingly well thougth out list.
