10. Nintendo Gamecube
Despite the fact that it looked like a purple lunch box, it's hard to hate on Nintendo's Wii-predecessor with its fantastic video game lineup. We blasted TIE Fighters in Rogue Squadron II, pummeled friends senseless in Super Smash Bros. Melee and sailed the high seas in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Gamecube also spurred the release of the wireless Wavebird game pad, one of the best controllers in history.

personally i would have put the virtual boy as my #1, sega saturn at #2, and atari 2600 at #3...oh and throw neo geo into the mix to round out this quality list
Sega Genesis yes, Dreamcast no. I had one and despite it's good graphics it cant be rated higher than PSone or 2 nor SNES, NES or Sega Genesis. Xbox 360, please it's not better than the consoles I listed above neither. Secondly if any current gen console makes this list it has to be the Wii. I don't have one nor do I want one but it's the most popular system out. PSone was the #1 system of it's day so was PS2 with the latter being the most sold system of all time surpassing the PSone. NES put gaming back on the map after the crash and took it to new levels. The Genesis Improved upon the NES and the SNES improved upon that. Their place in history is set. How could the #1 system of all time be the #2 system of it's day, I mean isn't that why Xbox didn't make the list. And what about Atari 2600 it was the most popular system of it's day back in the late 70's early 80's as well. As far as I'm concerned PS2 should be #1, you talk about all the great games it has, it came out in 2000 and they're still making games for it now, GameCube is done, Xbox been done, that’s how they got a head start on this generation they quit on their last system after 4 years of life. The orignal Xbox was out from 2001 till 2005, does that mean that the Xbox 360 will be out from 2005 till 2009? After 8 years PS2 is still going strong, name another system with that kind of longevity.

This list sucks. SNES is by far the best, and 360 should not have been in the Top 5.
i love the sega dreamcast it had amazing graphics for its time great list
This list sucks terribly. No one agrees with it. The Xbox360 is not #1, Wii somehow didn't even make the list, and the order is all wrong! What was so special about the Dreamcast?
GameDaily once again proves that it's taking some money under the table from Microsoft. Congrats guys, now run back to sucking on Gates' balls before they dry out.
@userfriendly910: I would personally place the N64 lower than most consoles because of its universally blurry graphics, a cartridge format that lost Nintendo many key third party devs, examples being then Squaresoft and Capcom, and its revolutionary, yet very weird looking controller that helped discouraged the masses from picking one up. But dispite all that, there is no denying that the N64 really did have some of the greatest games ever.
userfriendly910-yeah i agree with you on that, also super nintendo, i grew up playing those and i had so much fun me and my brothers still play them infact, today we took it out to play super mario 64. theres so much fun on that and super nintendo, i love those consoles i always play them even though they are pretty old now. but i cant say all the other consoles shouldnt be there because ive never played play station and ps2, or dreamcast. but i have played all the rest. so i cant really judge that much. But i do sitll enjoy N64. and i just re-read your commet, ha thats the same with my brothers and me we have 360 too but we still play N64 and SNES.
