25. Time Crisis (Namco)
A lot of shoot-em-up games ruled the arcade back in the day, but Time Crisis stood out for one specific reason -- a well-implemented foot pedal. Using it to hide behind objects and reload your gun added some strategy to the usual run-and-gun play. Excellent boss fights (particularly your final face-off with the notorious Wild Dog) rule here, too. The game was later ported to the PlayStation and was followed by four sequels, including the more recent Time Crisis 4.

dude agreed. Spy hunter?!?! Bad Dudes?!?! Shinobi where you get to throw the ninja stars? Bubble Bobble was an arcade game before it went to nintendo. Mortal Kombat got ranked way too low They prolly got some dudes who went to college for sales and joined a video game company to do these rankings.

hello??did anyone ever hear of centipede?? how 'bout frogger?? what about missle command?? yeah , and what about galaga?? i tnink this poll was done with a bunch of kids who only remember the games from the '90's and newer. give it up for the originators like the ones mentioned here although i'm glad asteroids and space invaders made the list, but pac-man & ms. pac-man...gimmie a break
Yeah, but i'm most surprised with Tekken. I mean come on. One of the biggest hits ever.
I'm pretty disappointed that Killer Instinct and X-Men didn't make the list. Both of those were huge hits.
X-Men as well, even NFL Blitz. Am I forgetting anything else?

They said best arcade games, that means games you would find at a arcade and pop a couple of quarters in to play. I don't think Sonic was an arcade game. But I could be mistaken. It would have been cool to see Soul Calibur on the list, even if it was # 25. It isn't very fair that they had BOTH Ms. Pacman and regular Pacman on the list. It's practically the same game.

Where the BEST GAME OF ALLL TIME, everyone who had sega had this game in their console. "SONIC 2". How in the world could you leae out Sonic they still make duplicates of the game today. I mean it def. in the top 15 ... wow Pac man is a classic so its def #1 but the Simpson and TMNT needed to move up some spots. ....wow sonic
