Where's Metal Slug(s), King of Fighters, Fatal Fury (preferably Real Bout 2 or Garou: Mark of the Wolves), Marvel vs Capcom, Street Fighter III, Street Fighter Alpha 3, DoDonPachi, Ghouls and Ghosts, Raiden 2, Raiden Fighters, Battle Garrega, Puzzle Bobble, Puyo Pop, Gauntlet, Blazing Star, R-type, Gradius, SNK vs Capcom, Capcom vs SNK: Match of the Millenium, Shock Troopers, Area 51, House of the Dead, Alien 3: the gun, Battletoads, Strikers 1945, and I could probably think of more.
Oh yeah, and take ALL of the driving games off. Those are a dime a dozen, and it's not hard for someone to copy them. Many of the games I listed are unique and even if they weren't very well known, they were very very good games. Also, in my opinion, Mortal Kombat is an ugly, overrated, and corny piece of garbage. I recently looked at a list of every chracter in the game, and more than three of them have head rip listed as a fatality, and three also have skin rip listed as a fatality. Talk about uninspired.

Lets low rank the crap out of this thing in protest. Oh and Charismatic I hate to tell you but Ms. Pac Man and Pac Man are the same game. They just put a bow on him.
This was a nice trip down memory lane, and I agree that it's difficult to get down to 25. Pacman is ubiquitous with arcade games, but nice props for Pong; Joust and Tempest are good games, but surprises for me to be included in this list. Robotron is da bomb! I agree that it's difficult to leave off Galaga, Missile Command and Centipede as far as popularity, even though I preferred the sequel, Millipede. Still, the one that first got me going was Breakout (late 70s), and I'm disappointed it is not included. I also have a fond place for Mouse Trap and Stargate, but these were not very popular. Thanks for the walk down memory lane, y'all!
