Alright, I've enough of this bull****!!! Game Haters, read my post very carefully. If you've read the first couple of pages in The Bible, you might of noticed the story of Cain and Abel. For those of you who don't know this story, Cain gets jealous that Abel is in better favor with God. Abel is invited by Cain for a walk in the fields. Cain takes a stone a kills his brother. Now, I'm Catholic. So I look at the stories in The Bible as true events. For those of you who share my beliefs, Cain and Abel were the first human children to walk the Earth they only knew praying, farming, eating, and sleeping. Now I ask, what bad influence did Cain have??? Nothing, but free will and maybe the famous excuse, "The devil made me do it." Now, for those of you who don't believe in God, there's always Lincoln's asassination, Slavery, Piracy, etc. I can go all day. What horrible creation inspired these events??? Oh wait I know, Shakespear!!! Yes, ban Shakespear it, inspires killing, suicide, verbal insulting, the death penalty (Fathers puting their daughters to death for not marrying the man that was picked for them), etc. How do you like that??? Voilence in the schoolyard, ban school. Voilence in my front yard, ban going outside, etc. The point here is that it's not the fault of daily pleasures and activies of our lives, but the fault of the PARENTS that don't moniter them for their children!!!! M rated games mean that kids younger than 17 can't buy them, but I give our nation three guesses on how children are obtaining these games. The smart people only need one guess...PARENTS!!! PARENTS with COMMON SENSE produce KIDS with COMMON SENSE!!! PARENTS with NO SENSE produce KIDS with NO SENSE!!! It is these gamers that can't seperate fantasy from reality, and can't what they do in the game, IN THE GAME!!! So PARENTS with NO SENSE look in the MIRROR and BLAME YOURSELVES all day long and %$#@ing quit trying to punish the SENSEFUL for the sins of the SENSELESS!!!! Because if ALL PARENTS INSTILLED COMMON SENSE, GOOD MORALS AND VALUES, AND HONESTY IN THEIR KID, WE WOULDNT HAVE THIS PROBLEM, BUT SINCE THERE'RE PARENTS OUT THERE WHO DON'T GIVE A RATS %$# ABOUT THEIR KIDS, THESE KIDS GROW UP NOT CARING, AND THINKING NOTHING OF BLOWING THEIR FELLOW MAN'S HEAD OFF!!!

simple solution to all the parents who have a problem with these games..... don't buy it for your kids!!! just because you don't like these that doesn't mean that others feel the same way. stores such as game stop have it so that only persons 18 and above can purchase these games or the parent can get it for their kids. so stop bashing what you don't know!

and to kittykat01016's comment its not so much that they cant differentiate between reality and fiction they know its fake but some kids want to go a step further and see the real thing its the fact of seeing something fake and enjoying it so much it eventually can't satisfy their needs of blood and gore that they want to see the real thing like I said before you might not have been a kid effected by violent video games but there is a small percentage that are influenced so stop basing your information off of yourself you don't have the mind set of a person who gets please from it and I say that to all people who say it doesn't provoke violence you obviously haven't seen little kid take a freakishly twisted pleasure of seeing blood and guts so stop basing information off of yourself and a few people you've seen

I use to say "thats really stupid it doesn't provoke violence" but as i see some of the younger kids and by younger i mean like 5-10yrs old play these types of games sometimes its sickening how "into it" they get. Some kids get some twisted pleasure from killing people, I've seen it myself, yeah you might have not been that kid I mean I wasn't, I'd kill a person in a game and be like I won but some kids feed off the blood they see and the gore and they want it more and more Ive seen this mostly in games like GTA where little kids really get a little to into it maybe, its kids being kids but i never had that much pleasure in killing someone in a game as Ive seen in some little kids and sometimes thats not enough to satisfy and they want to see the real thing and they turn to animal mutilation and who knows maybe murder yea you might have not been that kid but there are those kids out there so my advice to those people who say that video games dont provoke violence stop being so single minded

Let me first start by saying video games don't make kids violent!!! - If your kids can't tell real from fake and you as a parent are to stupid to have a talk with them and get them the help they need then it is your own dam fault your kid is the way he/she is. I have a 11 year old, he loves his video games, halo 3 is his fav, then gta4, and we all like that new ninja game that just came out. my 11 year old gets A's and B's in school and is very respectful to his elders. If you the parents sat down with ur kids and took the time to play these games with them, you would see they are fun! And they dont make ur kid into some freak - As for the person who said there kid doesnt need more playmates, my comment to you is, you are right in one sence, you need to stand strong and be a parent, but you also need to be ur childs friend as well or they will never talk to you - WAKE UP! kids arent going to talk to some old fart!!!!

as a side note there is an ocean of space between physical violence and the imagination. if i could get some right wingers to respond here it would make this board more interesting.

mortal combat is child's play compared to this country's views on war, violence in the streets, or say...lethal injection. it's not 13 year old kids marching us to war, its grown adults with "stable" personalities who I might add do not play video games. nobody has perspective on violence these days and a few people drinking soda and ripping each others heads off with magical creatures, and laughing about it on a tv screen is not exactly a huge threat to living decently.

Parents can't get mad at the violence in these games because the parents buy the game for thier kids because kids are not old enough to buy them. There is a rating system that prevents kids from buying violent games. It's just like a porn store. you would never see a 5 year old kid walk in and buy a porn dvd or go to a strip club. If the parents are ok with buying the game they should accept the violence and TALK to their kids because kids are humans too so they know how to talk. I am pretty sure a kid has never played Mortal Kombat then called thier bestfriend and said, " hey come over so I can rip your spine out." KIDS ARE NOT STUPID. Just because you can tell them Santa Claus brings them presents and the Tooth Fairy takes their teeth and leaves money doesn't mean they are stupid it just means they TRUST you.
